About Concrete Bits

Concrete Bits is a small company run by Ben Bijkerk, based in Rotterdam. After 17 years of being a partner in Canvas Multi-Media I have continued my programming activities solo.

The main activity of Concrete Bits is the development of custom software, including:

• internet sites
• intranet sites
• database publishing software
• client-server netwerk applications

For the development of internet and intranet sites I usually make use of my own cms, concrete cms. This is a fast, compact, multi-language, universally employable cms. It functions flawlessly on Linux (apache) and Windows (apache & iis). Concrete cms is based on industry standards php, javascript and mysql.

Database publishing systems and client-server network applications are usually developed in C and C++. These are often systems where performance is paramount.

Since a while now I've been working on a few embedded products in C, C++ and machine code. For this I also do hardware design, and, for small batches, assembly. When this results in a market-ready product, an update will follow.
